Pioneering the Future of Female Entrepreneurship in Africa: Royal Iwere Foundation and Junior Achievement Nigeria Launch Set4Lyf Initiative in Warri Kingdom

The Royal Iwere Foundation, in collaboration with Junior Achievement Nigeria and Junior Achievement Africa,  launched the SET4LYF Initiative (School-to-Work Educational Transitions for Long-term Youth Fulfilment), a transformative six-month programme designed to equip 1,000 marginalised female students in Warri Kingdom with critical thinking, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial skills on Monday 17 February 2025 with an opening ceremony at the Olu of Warri Palace Hall, Warri Delta State. Present at the launch were Her Royal Majesty, Olori Atuwatse III, Queen Consort Warri Kingdom, Honourable Orode Uduaghan, Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Lady Diana Eyo-enotte, Special Adviser to the Governor of Delta State on SDGs, Mrs Simi Nwogugu, CEO, Junior Achievement Africa, Mr Ugonna Achebe, Executive Director, Junior Achievement Nigeria, and students from Delta Secondary School, Yonwuren College, Hussey College, Nana Model College, Dom Domingos College, Uwangue College, and Dore Numa College.

Speaking at the launch event, Her Royal Majesty, Olori Atuwatse III, highlighted the significance of educating young girls, stating: “Educating girls is one of the most effective ways to drive sustainable progress. It strengthens families, builds resilient communities, and fosters economic growth. Every investment in a girl’s education is an investment in progress. With the right skills and opportunities, these young women will confidently lead, drive innovation, and shape a more equitable future. When we think of Set4Lyf, it usually connotes privileges, through this initiative we are ensuring that every girl has access to the right resources regardless of their background”

The SET4LYF Initiative is not only a catalyst for change but also a strategic investment in the economic transformation of Warri Kingdom, Nigeria, and Africa. By equipping young girls with the skills to thrive in an evolving global economy, the programme lays the foundation for sustainable development, innovation, and inclusive economic growth.
