In honour of Children’s Day 2025, the Royal Iwere Foundation (RIF) reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to nurturing confident, curious, and inspired young learners through the Storytime with Mama Iwere: Read & Reach Literacy Tour. On 28th May 2025, the RIF team led this transformative literacy outreach across select primary schools in Warri, encouraging reading as a tool for self-expression and personal growth.
The tour saw the distribution of over 350 copies of Her Majesty’s self-authored children’s books, alongside hundreds of academic school packs, impacting more than 1,500 children. Among these, over 200 pupils from International Unity School, Agbeje Primary School, Aldertown Special Primary School, and Nana Primary School each received free personal copies. At the same time, 25 books were donated to each school’s library, enriching learning resources for years to come.
Storytime with Mama Iwere is not just about books; it’s about empowering a generation of learners to dream, express themselves, and embrace their potential, knowing that literacy opens doors to endless opportunities.
