Royal Iwere Foundation Commissions Delta State’s First STEM and Innovation Lab

Olori Atuwatse III in partnership with CleverMinds Foundation has commissioned the first-ever STEM and Innovation Lab in Delta State. The STEM and Innovation lab is specifically for orphans and underprivileged children and is located in the slum area of Iyara community, Warri.

The STEM Lab is a non-linear learning centre where the children can play, explore the amazing world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics through fun interactive activities, experimenting with amazing creations and ideas that develop lifelong learning and interest in STEM.

The space has a wide array of engaging activities for kids to tinker with including: Digital labs, Coding challenges, Robotics kits, Prototyping with 3D printers, Physical Computing with Arduino, computer games, and child-friendly sci-fi movies/animations, short videos on emerging technologies, and many more.

Her Majesty thought to gift her children on her birthday with something that matters to her—Innovative education. To honour her Majesty’s support, the founder of Cleverminds, one of her mentees, Mr Zion Oshobugie named it in honour of her father, one of her favourite people, Capt. (Dr.) Idahosa Wells Okunbo. He was an avid lover of the sciences and proponent for education.
