STEM Hub Bootcamp 1.0 – Iyara Community

On Monday, the Royal Iwere Foundation inaugurated the STEM Hub Bootcamp 1.0 in collaboration with Diana Eyo-Enotte, the Special Assistant on SDG Delta State. The bootcamp, which reached children aged 7 to 15 years across four schools in the Iyara Community, concluded today with remarkable results. Over the course of five days, the children were introduced to the world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), sparking a strong interest in these fields.

Throughout the programme, the participants explored the fundamentals of electronics, learning to construct basic circuits using batteries, resistors, and LEDs. Additionally, they were introduced to Arduino Programming (C++), focusing on essential concepts such as variables and data types. This hands-on approach allowed the children to write program codes, manipulate microcontrollers, and control LED functions, sharpening their STEM skills in a practical environment.

The Royal Iwere Foundation strongly believes that early exposure to STEM education is key to shaping future innovators. The bootcamp not only equipped the children with practical skills but also inspired them to aspire to become the next generation of tech leaders and problem-solvers in Africa.

The Foundation extends its gratitude to the facilitators, including Ayeesha Elike and her team at Take Lead Innovation Centre, and Ugochukwu Ekenma Richard from Galaxie Web Concept International, for their dedication to making this enriching learning experience possible. Their commitment to nurturing young minds in the field of STEM will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the participants and the wider community.
