Royal Iwere Sports Academy (RISA)

The Royal Iwere Sports Academy is a powerful development tool used to harness the potential of underprivileged youths living in slum communities in Warri Kingdom.

The academy works to transform their lives through formal sports education as they repurpose their vibrancy and energy to productive outcomes that make them impactful members of society. So far the academy has launched the RISA Football Academy which engaged in inter-community matches to foster unity amongst the youths.

Its most recent endeavour, RIF Tennis Clinic took place in February of 2024, in partnership with Coach Lawrence Kamouh and the Warri Tennis Club. It touched over 500 pupils across 6 schools in the rural and riverine communities and donated over 100 pieces of tennis equipment.

A second cohort is set for July 2024, which features an improved curriculum, train-the-trainer modules, continuing education for the children engaged in February and a larger donation of 300 tennis equipment.

RIF Technology and Innovation (RIFTI)

This is the umbrella programme that houses our STEM and Tech projects and centres. So far RIF has launched a STEM Lab and Innovation Centre in the heart of a Celvermind Free Schools dedicated to underprivileged children in the slum areas of Iyara community. The state-of-the-art STEM Lab has provided a sanctuary for the STEM Hub Boot Camp. The first cohort of 27 kids were selected from 6 low-earning schools in Iyara and trained for 1 week in April 2024 by Take Lead Technologies and in partnership with the SDG SA to the Governor of Delta State. This cohort has gone on to birth a STEM Hub club which will reach more kids in the coming months.

RIFTI also powers the Warri Tech Challenge and Tech Incubator in partnership with a renowned technological giant, Omilola Oshikoya. The Tech challenge saw one winner awarded a $1,000 grant and 50 others would be put into an incubator programme in 2025 to enable their business to thrive within the eco-system.

Raising Royalty Academy (RRA)

The Raising Royalty Academy (RRA) is a strategic multilayered programme designed to nurture the next generation of skilled and upright leaders. The programme runs an interdependent model across 6 projects.

It starts with the Teacher Training Programme that upskills teachers in the Warri Kingdom, so far over a 100 teachers have been impacted, some of whom then volunteer for Teach For RIF - a project dedicated to improving the teaching practices of schools in slum areas, currently we have 10 of them in our pipelines.

These teachers also participate in the RIF Scholarship Fund. The fund is strategically positioned to improve the educational sector in the Niger Delta region, by empowering underprivileged students from the Warri Kingdom to attain quality foundational education and pursue higher education thereby reducing the out-of-school rates. Currently, 40 youths across primary, secondary and university levels of education are beneficiaries of the project with more set to join in next year.

Story Time with Mama Iwere is an educational platform which nurtures early literacy through literature and creative thinking which leverages reading and storytelling. This helps the children develop their literacy skills early and this foundation is crucial for their future academic success. So far a total of 300 children within the Warri Kingdom have been impacted over the past 2 years.

All of the kids who go through nay of our children-focused development programme automatically become a member of the Raising Royalty Academy Alumni and have access to multiple resources that grooms them into leaders.
