The Royal Iwere Agriculture Skills Hub is gender inclusive and has been created to drive agriculture and agro-business in Warri. The programme provides 3-6 months training on different agricultural practices with the initial focus on rice farming.
Plots of land owned by the Royal Iwere Agricultural Skills Hub will be loaned out to participants who complete the training and are interested in becoming and making a livelihood from farming. In partnership with a bank, participants will be empowered with microloans to help them build their own businesses/livelihoods in agriculture and a sustainable repayment plan system will be created.
The hub will create a farm to food programme which will enable and empower participants with knowledge on farming techniques, seeds, processing and packaging as digital skills and business basics with financial skills to sell their produce.
