Royal Iwere Skills Institute (RIFSI)

The Royal Iwere Skills Institute (RIFSI) focuses on providing training and mentorship programmes to develop skills in areas such as business, entrepreneurship and life skills that empower women and girls. Working in collaboration with key individuals and institutes, the Royal Iwere Skills Institute (RIFSI) develops bespoke courses (short and long-term) to impart technical skills and equip participants with the knowledge and practical tools to establish themselves and excel in vocational fields.

The Royal Iwere Skills Institute (RIFSI) is devoted to supporting the future of women and girls by providing resources and opportunities to forge brighter futures and access quality education, skill acquisition, vocational training and other resources that push the importance of basic business skills to transform participants into budding entrepreneurs.

Our most recent programme, in partnership with home-grown internationally recognised mentors, delivered a two-week skill acquisition training in Event Planning and Management. A total of 60 women were empowered and equipped with insider knowledge, industry insight and resources in key areas such as decoration, lighting, flooring, customer relationship management and business management.

Our initial programmes, Equipping and Empowering Beauty Artists and Educators focused on the beauty industry with a two-week skill acquisition training in makeup artistry. Training sessions were held in conjunction with Her Highness, Olori Atuwatse III’s personal make-up artist. The 56 women and girls who participated were not only equipped with practical skills but empowered with knowledge on business, customer service and career progression in the industry. We were able to provide each participant with their own starter kit which included all the tools they would need to start offering makeup services for bridal, editorial and commercial clients.
